The exhibition schedules have finally been added to the AUS website.
The Dal men will play one formal exhibition match this Thursday, Sept. 2nd against St. Mary's, at 6:00pm. The women also play on the 2nd, at 4:00pm. Both games are at Wickwire Field.
The women have two other friendlies, against powerhouse Cape Breton on Sept. 4th at 3:00pm at Wickwire, and a return fixture against SMU on the 6th, at 6:30pm at Husky Stadium.
In other AUS exhibition play, Acadia and St. FX's women's teams are meeting at Raymond Field in Wolfville for Amit Batra's first (informal) game with the Axewomen. The X-Men will play UPEI on the 5th, having already gone 1-2 on an NCAA tour.
There may also be some other, informal friendlies for Dal teams against local clubs. We'll try to find out if there are any and let you know tomorrow.

Interested in taking in a soccer game and getting your name in cyberspace?
ReplyDeleteTurns out I can't make the Sept. 4th Dal-CBU friendly due to a prior commitment. I'd love to be there, but I can't.
So if you read this blog, or follow Dal soccer, or just feel like writing something, then let me know. Comment here or email matthias@student.ednet.ns.ca.
Sadly, we can't really pay any writer, since this blog is run on a budget of roughly $0.00 dollars. But if you want your name out there....

To follow up to my own comment, the Sept. 4th game has been moved to Sunday due to Hurrican Earl. My other, unavoidable commitment has also been moved, so no pressure, anybody.
ReplyDeleteThat said, if you really want to write for this blog, do let me know. It looks great on a journalism portfolio.

The above comment should imply that the Saturday friendly is no more, but just in case anyone needs it plainly pointed out: the Saturday friendly is cancelled. I know SMU and Dal are playing a three-way game with CBU on Sunday. Not sure about Monday's friendly.
